My Eco Journey

Hey! Thank you for checking out my blog! This is my first post! Ah!

So I’m a 34 year old mom from South Florida who lives in South Beach. I have a degree in English and Journalism from University of Miami and then went on to get a law degree from UM as well. I don’t practice law – I leave that to my hubby. I’ve been busy for the past few years becoming a mother. Like most new moms, I became health-obsessed with the birth of my daughter. Only organic cotton clothing, the healthiest organic foods, et cetera, et cetera. This newfound obsession came out of only wanting the best for my child. And the natural progression of this was the state of the planet she is inheriting. Am I leaving it in the best possible condition I could for her generation? (Let’s just say there was certainly room for improvement at the time this initially dawned on me.)

I’ve since made great strides in attempting to reduce my footprint and become more green for the sake of my daughter. No more plastic water bottles (I was late to that party, I’m embarrassed to say), no needless running water, no plastic bags if avoidable, REFUSING single use plastics (Not easy! This requires playing defense HARD!). Anyway, it’s been a long road for me to completely change my way of life, especially with a young child, considering the day-to-day can be quite exhausting as is. But the stakes are simply too high to not put in the effort, in my opinion. I simply cannot stomach the consequences.
